NOTE: Please complete the initial AccuPoint onboarding and implementation before proceeding with the billing implementation.
This guide walks you through the steps to set up billing functionality and bill out for the first time. Please review the responsibilities and expectations with care. The goal is to send out an initial sample of claims prior to billing all sessions out of AccuPoint.
Prepare for the Billing Process
- Complete Enrollment Forms, including ERA requests.
- Select a variety of client sessions to enter into AccuPoint - at least one per contract.
NOTE: The client sessions should be real sessions that have not been billed out via any other method.
- Attend the Pre-Billing Review session where you and your AccuPoint trainer will review the client sessions that have been entered.
Bill Out for the First Time
- Attend the Test Billing session where you and your AccuPoint trainer:
- Verify the billing codes, units, rates, and other service details.
- Correct any errors prior to claim submission.
- Approve the claims for billing.
- View claim status via the MDOL portal.
- Verify the billing codes, units, rates, and other service details.
- Review your Submission Report to ensure there are no claims stuck in Pending status.
- Enter a Start Date and End Date and click Update View
- The items in the submission report should have switched from “Pending” to “Billed”.
Track Claims
- Go to the MDOL website.
- Log into the http://www.mdon-line.com/mdonline
- Review the status of your claims.
- View in MDOL - claim status is acknowledged by the payer.
Acknowledgments mean the claims are processing in the payer's system.
- View in MDOL - claim status is rejected by the payer
Rejections mean the clearinghouse rejected the claim before it made it to the payer. Review the claim for errors, correct, and resubmit.
NOTE: Click the Session Tracking # to view all claim information.
Click the number in the Rejected column to review the rejection message.

- View in MDOL - claim status is acknowledged by the payer.
Correct Rejected Claims in AccuPoint
- Correct missing or invalid information in your AccuPoint site.
NOTE: Many rejections require updates in both the Client Edit Information page and InsuranceNumbers.
- Resubmit the services through the Submission Report by switching the status of services from Billed to Pending.
- Click Update Billing Status to submit claims with the revised information.
Billing Follow-up
- Claims are batched nightly after 5pm EST Monday-Thursday and after 4pm EST on Fridays.
- Five business days after the claim submission, log into the clearinghouse and look for rejections.
NOTE: Some rejections can show up to 5 days after submitted.
- 10 days after the claim submission, look for the payment.
- You can check the payer's portal, call the insurance company, or review MDOL for electronic remittance advice (ERA).

- Please let your AccuPoint contact know once you receive your first payment for each payer.
- Submit a Zendesk ticket if you have completed the ERA enrollment but have yet to see any ERAs in MDOL after 30 days.
NOTE: Do NOT include PHI.
- You can check the payer's portal, call the insurance company, or review MDOL for electronic remittance advice (ERA).
- Payment remittances received via the payer portal or mail will need to be manually posted in AccuPoint.
AccuPoint strongly advises against submitting all claims to payers that have not had a successful test billing via the AccuPoint system. This can lead to a significant interruption in cash flow. If you have followed the above steps and received payments from each payer, you are ready to consistently bill out of AccuPoint. Great work and good luck!
